Writing a Listing That Books

By Belo Rentals · Updated June 2026

Photos win the click, but your description closes the booking. A clear, honest, benefit-focused listing answers renters' questions before they ask and builds the trust that leads to a reservation. Here's how to write one.

Lead with the value

Open with what makes your car a great choice — reliability, fuel efficiency or range, comfort, cargo space, or convenient pickup. Renters skim, so put the strongest reasons to book right at the top.

Spell out what's included

Remove uncertainty by stating mileage allowance, delivery options and fees, add-ons, and any rules clearly. When renters know exactly what they're getting, they book with confidence.

  • Mileage allowance and any unlimited option
  • Pickup and delivery options with fees
  • Fuel/charge and return expectations
  • Prohibited uses and travel limits

Be honest to reduce disputes

Describe your car accurately, including any cosmetic quirks. Setting true expectations means happier guests, fewer surprises at handoff, and better reviews — honesty is a conversion tool, not a liability.

Keep it scannable and current

Use short paragraphs and clear structure so renters can skim. Update your listing when anything changes — new tires, a fresh detail, an added feature — so it always reflects the car they'll actually pick up.

Frequently asked questions

What should the title emphasize?

The car's biggest selling points and any convenience — reliability, efficiency/range, space, or easy pickup near a demand hub like Logan.

How detailed should the description be?

Detailed enough to answer common questions — mileage, delivery, fuel/charge, and rules — but scannable with short paragraphs.

Should I mention cosmetic flaws?

Yes. Honest descriptions set correct expectations, reduce handoff disputes, and lead to better reviews.
